To enjoy Bogotá, you just have to feel like exploring and immerse yourself in the endless plans that the Colombian capital has for you to experience at a low cost.

Regarding mobility, you should know that the best option is Transmilenio and SITP, which connect easily with the whole city. You can travel long distances for a maximum of $2,950 one way. Download the Transmi App on your cell phone for details on routes, schedules and more.

You can start the day by climbing Monserrate on its pedestrian path for free (its opening hours are from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every day, except Tuesdays). At the most famous summit of Bogotá, you can get a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and find the sanctuary of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate. During your walk, remember to hydrate yourself well.

Besides being an important religious epicenter of the capital, Monserrate has spaces to explore, taste and be seduced by the local cuisine (you will find signature dishes such as tamales with chocolate or changua santafereña ranging from $5,000).

To continue this adventure through the country's capital, you should visit La Candelaria and reach the Chorro de Quevedo, two of the capital's emblematic landmarks. Then you can walk to the Plaza de Bolivar, where the center of the country's political power is located.

In the Bolívar Square, you’ll find the traditional Carrera Séptima, one of the main roads of Bogotá. This is the opportunity to walk to the city’s north and enjoy the famous “Septimazo”, a popular Bogotá stroll. That’s an ideal plan to discover the diverse wealth of the city along a route of over 2 kilometers with an endless number of commercial activities.

The Carrera Séptima has a great gastronomic offer ranging from elaborate menus to fast food. You can enjoy Colombian coffee, typical snacks of the central region of Colombia and conclude your walk with an exquisite dessert to sweeten your trip (you may spend between $3.000 and $10.000 COP).

Finish your walk in the Manzana Cultural of the city (between Carreras 4 and 5 and streets 10 and 11). In this area are located: the Luis Angel Arango Library and its concert hall, the Botero Museum, the Miguel Urrutia Art Museum (MAMU) and the Gold Museum, which is located in the Santander Park (admission to all locations is free, except the Gold Museum, which has a $5,000 entrance fee).
