National Geographic has highlighted the five best museums in Colombia, and two of them are in Bogotá. They are the Botero Museum and the Gold Museum, consolidating the city as a must-see destination for lovers of art, history, and culture.

Botero Museum, an exaltation of voluminous shapes

Located in the heart of La Candelaria, the Botero Museum houses an extraordinary collection of works by renowned artist Fernando Botero. His
paintings and sculptures, recognizable by their voluminous forms and unmistakable style, offer visitors a unique and immersive experience in the
world of art.
NatGeo has praised the uniqueness of the museum, emphasizing its contribution to the cultural richness of Bogota.

Gold Museum, a journey through Colombia's ancestral wealth

The Gold Museum stands out as a trove that tells the story of Colombia's pre-Columbian civilizations, with an outstanding collection of gold pieces and archeological artifacts.

NatGeo's distinction highlights Bogotá's crucial role as a cultural epicenter in Latin America. The museums serve not only as guardians of Colombia's artistic and historical wealth but also as magnets for tourism, attracting visitors from all over the world.

Gold Museum opening hours and prices: Tuesday to Saturday: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Sundays and holidays: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Closed on Mondays,
including holidays. Admission is 5,000 COP, but it is free for specific population groups.

The connection between the cultural value of these museums and tourism is undeniable. Visitors not only seek to admire the masterpieces of renowned artists or explore the ancestral history of a region but also to immerse themselves in the authenticity of the local culture.

Bogotá, with museums such as the Botero and the Gold Museum, offers a tourist experience with an aesthetic delight and a deep appreciation of
Colombia's cultural richness.
