Tour Details:

Between Selfies and History

The tour will start at the National Museum, where you will be guided through the historical places of this area, such as Carrera 7.ª, Santander Park, the Environmental Axis, and Boíivar Square. The theme of this tour is focused on the history of the Bogotá's colonial area.

Once we arrive at the Plaza de Bolivar, we will know all its secrets. From there, we will continue along Calle 10 to explore more stories of La Candelaria until we arrive at the Botero Museum to enjoy this art icon.

Horseshoe road: The Ruiotoque gullies

These two towns share the same history that dates back to the 16th century, but have particular local identities and histories: Sáchica as an ancient chiefdom of the Muisca culture and later " Town of the Indians of the Spanish crown" during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, and Villa de Leyva, a Spanish village founded in 1572, the center of the conquest and colony of the Saquencipá Valley. We will walk in time through these historical traces and pass through the famous Ruiotoque gullies —an eroded place that conveys magical sensations.

INCLUDES:

Patio de las Brujas, desert and La Candelaria monastery.

We will enjoy the landscape of this desert, its fauna, flora, stories, legends, and myths while we walk in this unique place in Colombia due to its altitude and endemic species. We will contemplate the cultural landscape of this ecosystem until we arrive at Patio de Brujas, an astronomical park built to recall our indigenous culture and its astronomical knowledge.

Sáchica Historical City Tour

In a 2-hour tour, we will explain the punishment stone, the atrial cross, and the doctrinal church of Sàchica. These monuments tell us about the time of the Spanish conquest of these lands and take us back to the 16th and 17th centuries when the encounter of the Spanish and indigenous worlds took place in Sáchica.

This complex is located in the only park planted with olive trees in Colombia: the Park of Sáchica. We will walk along cobblestone paths until we reach Calvary Mountain, a place full of stories and legends and a source of pliosaur fossils.
