A Bogotan Day: Culture, traditional food, historic walk and tejo

We will feel like real Bogotans, making a tour through several centuries that marked the capital. We will also visit some of the most beautiful areas of the capital, San Diego, Bosque Izquierdo, La Macarena, and Centro Internacional.

We will enjoy a traditional Santa Fe dish in Calle Bonita, one of the most popular gastronomic areas of Bogotá. We will end the tour by playing the ancestral Tejo game at Tejo la Embajada, accompanied by the typical pola (beer) and morcilla (blood sausage) to share. 

Monserrate Candelaria: Beyond the ordinary

  1.  Monserrate is a Bogotá icon that rises majestically over the city. We will use the cable car/funicular to enjoy panoramic views of the capital and its surrounding mountains and visit the Sanctuary of the Fallen Lord, a place of pilgrimage and spirituality.
  2. The historic Candelaria: You will walk along the cobblestone streets of this colonial neighborhood, admiring its traditional architecture with captivating stories about its past. We will visit the iconic Bolívar Square, surrounded by the Cathedral, the Capitol, and the Palace of Justice.

Myths, legends and stories of La Candelaria

You will be the main character of this movie-like tour, set to incidental music. You will get lost in some of La Candelaria's most ancient and hidden streets and discover enigmatic and chilling places.

You will hear mythological tales of our indigenous peoples, relive ghosts that lie in the legends of La Candelaria, and listen to tragic stories that shaped our present. 

La Candelaria, an ancestral journey

Be the protagonist of this exciting tour, where the picturesque streets and the most emblematic places of La Candelaria will be the setting. The tour is part of the El Dorado Legend Route, an initiative of the Bogotá Tourism Office (IDT), IDECUT, and the Secretary of Tourism of Boyacá.

You will hear stories about our history and ethnic and cultural diversity, the indigenous, peasant, and Afro-Colombian communities, their beliefs, their relationship with nature, women's role, their gastronomy, and many other things.

Time travel in Villa de Leyva and Ráquira.

 

This fantastic tour takes us to 2 beautiful towns, where you will learn about the history of Colombia's independence. You will visit a 150 million-year-old fossil, the colonial town of Villa de Leyva, and Ráquira, which has existed since the time of the Muiscas and is the capital of handicrafts, and the Battle of Boyacá Bridge, too.

Includes: Breakfast, two snacks, lunch, dinner, ticket entrance to the fossil, transportation, tour guide, and medical assistance insurance.

Savannah Route

This unique experience will take you through the Savannah region.

Stop 1

La Calera: We will begin our journey in the lovely town of La Calera, famous for its stunning mountain scenery and delicious cuisine. There, you can enjoy panoramic views and explore the cobblestone streets.

Stop 2

We will head to Sopó, a picturesque town known for its farmer's market and cozy atmosphere.

Stop 3

The Tivas Trail

The Tivas trail is about 10 km long and has a moderate to high level.
We will walk through roads and easement roads to discover the highest waterfall of Gachantiva and the beautiful Las Coloradas Lake.

Includes:

  • Guide, entrance fee, and insurance.
  • Lunch is optional, depending on the person's budget.

We can attend from 4 to 10 people per guide.
It requires a minimum of 2 days of prior reservation.

Immersive ancestral experience

Live the most immersive and incredible experience of seeing the world through the eyes of the Muisca community; we will depart from Bogotá and head to the Sogamoso municipality in the Boyacá department. We will begin at the Archaeological Museum Park, we will visit the Temple of the Sun, we will discover the most important archaeological collection of the Boyacá department and the ceremonies, rites, and rituals that took place there as a manifestation of the Muisca identity.
