"Everything starts as an idea that surrounds us, a growing need, a deep love that inspires us. This is how the Teatro Nacional was established: a courageous project born from genuine passion," stated its founder, the late Argentinean artist Fanny Mikey.
It is an artistic complex that consists of four theaters located in different locations in Bogotá. The first theater, La 71, is located at Calle 71 # 10-25 and opened its performing arts program to the public in 1981. It was followed by La Castellana at Calle 95 # 47-15 and the Casa del Teatro Nacional at Carrera 20 # 37-54. Its most recent addition is Leonardvs, which opened in 2024 and is located at Carrera 21 # 127-23.
All of them feature stages equipped with the necessary infrastructure and technology for first-class performances. Each theater offers a permanent program that includes classical, contemporary, musical, and comedy plays.
