In the south of Bogotá, exactly in the town of Ciudad Bolívar, artistic manifestations, creativity and memory have a place in the Teatro El Ensueño.
Inaugurated in April 2021, the theater has managed to become a symbol of the town, on par with the House of Culture, El Transmicable and El Mirador Illimani. In addition, it has been articulated with cultural spaces in neighboring towns such as Tunjuelito, Bosa and Usme, with the interest of promoting the artistic and cultural exchange of the communities.
Some of its strategic lines are Art and Community, Sustainable Scenarios and El Ensueño en Red, with which a permanent program of workshops, film clubs, dance and music is developed, which enables citizen participation and the strengthening of the social fabric. This location, with an area of more than 3,800 square meters, has a capacity for 800 people, a 24-meter-high stage, ten dressing rooms, four rehearsal rooms, a platform with an orchestra lifting system, equipped with the highest technology to provide top quality shows. In addition, it has a cafeteria, a basement for 44 parking spaces and 100 bicycle parking spaces.
The Teatro Ensueño is one of the three main theaters in the city, along with the Colón and the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán. There you can appreciate and enjoy large-format international shows such as opera, ballet and dance, and also the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra in full. The District Institute of the Arts, Idartes, is the entity in charge of managing the El Ensueño Theater, since this cultural space is part of the Bogotá Sustainable Equipment Network.
