Santa Fe is town number three in the Capital District of Bogotá. It forms the traditional center of the city, sharing it with La Candelaria, a town that is located in its territory, separated in 1991. The town Santa Fe derived its name from the old name of the capital. Much of the colonial and early 20th century Bogotá is located in this town. Santa Fe includes the area of the government and corporate buildings of Carrera Séptima and the Centro Internacional, the banking sector of Avenida Jiménez, as well as the traditional commercial district of San Victorino, which has been one of the hubs of Bogotá's commerce, since the colonial time. The town has a rural part corresponding to the eastern hills of Monserrate and Guadalupe. In addition, the sector also has some of the main universities in the country.
