The LGBTI+ Museum of Colombia is a unique space in Bogota and South America that has transformed a former gay sauna into a museum dedicated to the history and struggle of the LGBTI+ sectors. In its 14 rooms, you can immerse yourself in the history of characters who have left their mark by claiming their rights in different parts of the world. It also pays tribute to the iconic Stonewall Inn, the New York bar where more than half a century ago the revolt that led to the Pride March took place.

It contemplates works of art, photographs, literary pieces and valuable documents from Asia, Europe and Latin America, after an exhaustive three-year research by the museum team. It also discovers the most recent creations of talented Colombian artists.

Located in the district of Teusaquillo, at Carrera 13 A # 38-60, this museum is surrounded by large buildings, residential complexes, banks, restaurants, offices and universities (its opening hours are usually in the mornings). Today it is an important cultural and social meeting point for the city's diverse sectors, and is the result of the commitment of Rubén Darío Gómez, an art dealer and collector, to promote diversity and equality in Bogotá.

The space houses a permanent exhibition featuring both historical and current national and international figures who have worked on behalf of the LGBTI+ sectors. If you want to delve into the history of local activism, pay special attention to the work of Manuel Velandia and León Zuleta. After the tour, you can relax in the vintage room while enjoying a drink and, upon request, a vibrant drag comedy show.

Near this museum is the Park Way Avenue, which houses between its two lanes a large green area that functions as a linear park. There, in a respectful environment with the difference, the movement is activated thanks to a varied offer of cafes, national and international restaurants and cultural spaces. One of the most striking of these is Casa E borrero, an emblematic theater that presents a strip focused on diverse themes. Bogota is made for you!
