The National Museum, currently located in the Bogota International Center on Seventh Avenue, was founded on July 28, 1823 by Law issued during the first Congress of the Republic. The place was called the Museum of Natural History and the School of Mining, it has about 2,500 works and original, historical and patrimonial objects that make this place a unique setting in the country.

The imposing building was the headquarters of the old central penitentiary of Cundinamarca, today, it is a place that has been completely renovated, its huge corridors have been conditioned to reveal unimaginable stories and mysteries.
