This museum houses an impressive collection of about two thousand three hundred and sixty works related to the history of Independence and the concept of citizenship in Colombia. From pieces from colonial times to contemporary objects, the collection has been acquired since the museum was founded in 1960 by the Colombian Academy of History.

The Mint Museum offers a fascinating account of the economic, social and cultural processes of Colombia through its exceptional Numismatic Collection. The exhibition's script has been carefully crafted, taking into consideration the comments and recommendations of more than 800 participants in an audience survey, who shared their expectations and visions of the museum.

The Museo de Bogotá houses a collection of more than 24,000 objects in a variety of media.
