You can participate in an unprecedented cycling circuit in Colombia on November 17 with the help of the Bogotá cyclist Egan Bernal, champion of the 2019 Tour de France and the 2021 Giro d'Italia.
"It is an honor to be part of an event that not only highlights our city as the world's cycling capital but also promotes the benefits of cycling as a healthy and accessible activity for everyone," Bernal stated enthusiastically during the launch of El Gran Fondo de Bogotá. This event, which will be held in collaboration with the Mayor's Office, also features other Colombian cycling legends such as Mariana Pajón, Nairo Quintana, and Rigoberto Urán.
If you are a cyclist and a fan of these athletes, sign up for an event that will transform the sporting landscape of the capital. Join the 5,000 participants who will ride on an exclusive circuit designed for cyclists. This route will run through the main roads without the usual traffic interruptions, as all traffic lights along the circuit will be green.
Cycling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in an exhilarating experience on a safe circuit specifically designed for them, guided by world-renowned cyclist Egan Bernal.
The Gran Fondo de Bogotá will be more than just a race; each cyclist's participation will contribute to a greater cause: the sustainability of our planet. Participants will ride as part of a strategy that promotes climate action, a circular economy, and the conservation of biodiversity.
The race will start at Bolívar Square and will pass through the localities of Candelaria, Santa Fe, Chapinero, Usaquén, Suba, Engativá, Fontibón, Kennedy, Teusaquillo and Mártires, including the renowned climbs to Alto de Patios and Alto del Verjón. You can choose the route that best matches your physical condition: the main 115-kilometer route for experienced cyclists or a 60-kilometer route, another option for those seeking a shorter challenge.
Registration includes a race kit: hydration, a medal, a bib number, a tracking chip, an official T-shirt, and access to medical and mechanical assistance. For more information about the event, please visit www.granfondobogota.com/.
