In October, two exciting events will be held in various locations in Bogotá and several municipalities of Cundinamarca that will tantalize your taste buds. The first event is Gastrofest, organized by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, and the second is Fritanga Fest, organized by the Institute for the Social Economy (IPES). Gastrofest: dishes starting at $18,000 COP
The new edition of Gastrofest, a food festival showcasing Bogotá's culinary richness, offers dishes ranging from 18,000 to 80,000 COP and will take place from October 4 to 20.
150 selected gastronomic establishments will participate in this third edition of the event, including renowned restaurants of signature cuisine and haute cuisine, casual or fast food, traditional and "corrientazos" (popular food), bakeries, pastry shops, confectioneries, cafes and craft breweries distributed throughout the city and neighboring towns such as Cajicá, Chía, Cogua, Gachancipá, Sopó, Tabio, Tenjo, Tocancipá, Zipaquirá, Fusagasugá, Pasca, Silvania, Venecia and San Bernardo. You can also enjoy the delicacies prepared in the marketplaces of San Bernardo, La Concordia, 20 de Julio, 12 de Octubre, Ferias, Paloquemao, El Cacique (Chía), Villa de La Sal (Zipaquirá), Churuguaco (Tenjo) and Corazón (Fusagasugá).
According to the Chamber of Commerce, organizer of Gastrofest, all the participating restaurants are known for the quality and creativity of their dishes, as they use locally sourced ingredients.
For fritanga lovers
The fifth version of Fritanga Fest arrives in Bogotá. The culinary art of papita criolla, longaniza, chorizo and rellena will take place from October 3 to 6 in 56 restaurants in district marketplaces, commercial establishments and farmers' markets.
The cooks are ready to show their skills and creativity with different variations of this popular picada. Pork ribs, pork crackling, creole potato, longaniza, blood sausage, ripe plantain, bofe and arepa boyacense are part of this offer. Establishments will sell boxes of 750 grams and will be sold at 22,000 COP.
Fritanga Fest 2024 is an opportunity to share cultural, traditional, and culinary innovation spaces with family and friends.
The Fritanga Fest will be launched this Thursday, October 3, at the 12 de Octubre Marketplace. It will be a space where all attendees will taste this delicious dish and enjoy a live carranga band as well as the music of the popular artist and carranguero Albeiro Beltrán.
