The frailejones are plants that grow one centimeter each year and make up the icy paramo ecosystem; they collect most of the water that reaches Bogota's homes and create a landscape worthy of admiration. In the south of Bogotá, lovers of mountain biking and outdoor adventures will find in the Frailejón Trail the opportunity to enjoy a natural paradise while learning about its ecological function and the need to preserve it.

The bike route through the Frailejón Trail is part of the BiciBogotá Región Circuit, and it shows the first infrastructures made in the country for the supply of drinking water with the La Regadera reservoir and the source of the Tunjuelo River. As you go deeper into the mountain, an imposing frailejonal rises with all the beauty and majesty of the paramo ecosystem. This route starts in the urban area of Pasquilla village, in Ciudad Bolivar, south of the Colombian capital. It passes through the rural area of the Usme locality and arrives at the main park of the neighboring town of Chipaque.
