Bogotá, May 15, 2024. International Museum Day will be celebrated in Bogotá on Saturday, May 18. The Tourism Office of Bogotá (IDT) invites tourists, visitors, and residents to enjoy the city’s cultural offerings.
This event, recognized by UNESCO, is a chance to enjoy the cultural richness offered by these art temples; most of them will have free admission throughout the day.
Some of the museums offering free admission next Saturday include the Gold Museum, National Museum, Botero Museum, Currency Museum, Military Museum, Police Museum, Museum of Independence, and Museum of Bogotá, among others.They will be open from 9 a.m.
International Museum Day is an opportunity to highlight the importance of cultural spaces for the exchange and promotion of knowledge. This year's theme is “Museums for Education and Research.” It seeks to emphasize the educational and research experiences offered by these temples of knowledge for learning, dialogue, and reflection with communities.
On this day, Bogota's museums will offer a variety of activities, workshops, and educational spaces for all ages. From guided tours to talks with experts, there will be options for all tastes and interests. The IDT invites the citizens and visitors of Bogotá to explore the programming of our more than 60 museums.
